About our curriculum
We are currently using the Praise Factory curriculum Deep Down Detectives developed by Connie Dever and in partnership with 9 Marks. This Bible-based, doctrinally-rich curriculum is designed to teach children foundational truths about God through songs, stories, catechism questions, and hands-on activities.

Unit 9: What Did Jesus Come to Do?
In our current unit of HBC Kids, we’re answering one big question: What did Jesus come to do?
Our goal is to help children not just hear about Jesus, but begin to understand why He came—and why it matters for them. Through joyful songs, motions, Bible truths, and simple teaching tools, we’re showing them the heart of God’s rescue plan.
This unit highlights six key truths about Jesus that help children see the Gospel more clearly:
- He left His home in heaven to save us.
- He never, ever disobeyed God.
- He taught about God and did amazing things.
- He died on the cross for the sins of God’s people.
- He rose from the dead.
- He went up to rule in heaven.
Each lesson brings these truths to life through Scripture, repetition, and worship—helping our kids treasure Jesus and understand that He came to bring us to God.

Unit 3: What Is the Gospel?
In this unit of our HBC Kids curriculum, we’ve been exploring the most important question anyone can ask: What is the Gospel?
Our goal is to help children not just hear the good news—but understand it and remember it. We do this through joyful songs, motions, Bible truths, and simple teaching tools that bring the message of salvation to life.
This unit introduces four foundational truths that summarize the entire message of the Bible:
- God – God made us and calls us to obey Him.
- Man – We have all sinned and deserve God’s judgment.
- Christ – Jesus came to take the punishment for our sin and rise again in victory.
- Response – God saves all who turn from sin and trust in Jesus as their Savior.
These four words—God, Man, Christ, Response—form the heart of every lesson in Unit 3. Through Scripture, songs, and simple repetition, we are helping our children treasure the Gospel and begin to grasp the greatness of God’s grace in Christ.
